So have at it folks, who is Obama, and who is McCain?

I had put this in the replies but feel it got lost in conversation. I think it is important so I am adding it here.

Who said this:

• Unacceptable to have veterans drive 250 miles to a hospital.
• Improve veterans' mental health treatment & PTSD benefits
• Support veterans via the Dignity for Wounded Warriors Act.
• Address the deficiencies in the VA system.
• The cost of the Iraq war should not shortchange VA benefits.
• Make sure the outpatient facilities work for veterans.
• Comprehensive plan for our veterans healthcare.

Who has this as his favorite?
Favorite cause: Cleft-palate surgery for children.

9/25/2008 6:42:22 PM   From:  Rani   Just skimming through eeeh, that is how you plan to cast your vote on a skim through?
9/25/2008 6:43:50 PM   From:  Rani   I did not mix up who voted what way and put parts of one with the other, one of the candidates is straight up McCain and the other is straigth up Obama.
9/25/2008 6:45:49 PM   From:  mercury   I know that *now*, rani. I went back a read each word after I busted peanuts ;o)
9/25/2008 6:48:24 PM   From:  Rani   lol
9/25/2008 6:49:22 PM   From:  Rani   Who knows maybe after a few days I will post the link but right now, I got something to prove.
9/25/2008 7:16:10 PM   From:  eddo   Honestly, I am surprised you found this many votes by either candidate. With as often as McCain is absent, and how often Obama simply votes "Present" this had to be quite the chore, Rani. Good work.

9/25/2008 7:17:43 PM   From:  Rani   One said those things and the other one has the children's surgery as his favorite cause.
9/25/2008 7:19:53 PM   From:  Rani   It was a bigger chore putting this post together. The information is on one website.
9/26/2008 5:44:34 AM   From:  timesjoke   All you had to do is see where Obama voted no on the government declaring english as it's language, liberals believe all illegals should be liegal. McCain is the most liberal Republican to ever exist but even he will not go that far. My biggest issue with him is his attempt to get that amnesty bill passed, he has said he learned his lesson from that and I want to believe him but there are still a few doubts lingering.......Anyway, yes McCain has a very liberal voting record, but most people agree that Obama's record is 'pure' liberal straight down the line radical, he was listed as the most liberal in office by several watch dog groups and has a very long record of abusing earmarks.
9/26/2008 6:22:17 AM   From:  BCAR   1. Barack Hussien Obama 2. John McCain
9/26/2008 7:59:17 AM   From:  Rani   TJ, I am not trying to sway anyone's opinion either way, just reporting the voting record. I let them speak to you as they will speak to you. I am not trying to hide anything. My point is, know who you are voting for, in this post I have presented less than a 50% difference between the two men. As you do more research on them, the less that difference gap gets. No one is going to agree with any candidate 100% but it is important to know how the candidates really are going to handle issues that are important to you. What is important to you might not be important to me. Even if the candidates do not feel an issue is important to the campaign, I still want to know what is up with issues I care about, campaign or not. Know for yourself, not hype, not what your friends and family say, know for yourself what you are voting for. People are all about declaring Obama supports terrorism, but does his voting record reflect that? Depends on if you are correct in assuming who is who.
9/26/2008 8:04:34 AM   From:  Ali   haha. rani/insani...those were the days. Good post, rani.
9/26/2008 8:06:54 AM   From:  Rani   That is all you have, TJ, to distinquish who is who, a vote on English being the offical language? You had best come up with something better than that.
9/26/2008 8:07:39 AM   From:  Rani   I thought you would like that Ali. lol
9/26/2008 8:11:10 AM   From:  Rani   Without something that is an obivious clue, it is hard to tell who is who.
9/26/2008 8:12:07 AM   From:  Rani   BCAR, are you sure?
9/26/2008 8:16:22 AM   From:  Rani   Without a name, the biggest thing that jumps out at me is one candidate is more apt to spend money while the other one is more interested in making money.
9/26/2008 1:27:29 PM   From:  timesjoke   I never said the english thing was my only issue, why does it seem your every post is filled with wrong assumptions? I know there are few differences between McCain and Obama in many of their voting records, that is because McCain is very liberal........Most people are very similar, if we looked at any two people in America we would be able to find many ways they are the same, some of the differences are glaring though........Example, Obama is promising to end the Bush tax cuts, he is also promising all kinds of new spending to include new welfare checks to be sent to all poor, his new spending outweighs his "proposed" new taxes by more than 80%, he cannot explain where the money is comming from to pay for his promises, but we know that it must come from all of us, in one way or another.
9/26/2008 3:37:31 PM   From:  Rani   yeah the money thing kinda jumped out at me.
9/26/2008 3:51:04 PM   From:  Rani   Obama is promising to end the Bush tax cuts, would you like to see how each man voted on that? John McCain, voted against the tax cuts, stating, "We can't afford tax cuts for the fortunate at the expense of the middle class who need tax relief." Obama voted against the tax cuts, stating, "There's no doubt that the tax system has been skewed. And the Bush tax cuts--people didn't need them, and they weren't even asking for them, and that's why they need to be less, so that we can pay for universal health care and other initiatives."
9/26/2008 3:52:41 PM   From:  Rani   What does John McCain plan to do with the money when he overturns Bush tax cuts?
